The preferred candidate will be able to teach within the hours of 8-2 on Mondays, have a degree in a relevant field, and feel confident to teach high school-level subjects to incarcerated students at the Wasatch County Jail. |

Description |
|
|
ADULT EDUCATION JAIL PROGRAM TEACHER, 1 DAY/WEEK (MONDAYS 8-2) OPEN UNTIL FILLED
In addition to teaching required classes necessary for graduation, responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: complete volunteer training as required by The Wasatch County Sheriff's Office; organize and make copies of necessary paperwork before school time; adapt curriculum for different levels of students; have students complete intake paperwork, and input it into the state UASIS system; submit transcript requests; input grades and other transcript information; counsel with students to determine which classes they will take; administer CASAS tests, and enter the test results into UASIS; grade school work and tests and input final grades; attend training as needed; be willing to work with the jail staff and abide by their rules to ensure safety and security in the facility; coordinate with adult education staff regarding state requirements and other needs; organize graduations between the jail staff and the school administration, and report graduation results to the State Case Manager working at the jail. |
