Responsibilities Meal Preparation & Service • Assist with preparing, portioning, and serving meals according to established menus, recipes, portion standards, and supervisor direction. • Set up serving lines, workstations, dining areas, and meal-service supplies as assigned. • Provide courteous and efficient service to students and staff and help maintain an orderly meal-service environment. • Assist with cashiering, meal counts, or other food-service records as assigned. • Follow established procedures for student dietary accommodations and food-allergy safeguards. Food Safety & Sanitation • Follow District procedures and applicable food-safety and sanitation requirements when preparing, handling, serving, storing, and disposing of food. • Maintain required personal hygiene and use appropriate protective equipment while handling food. • Monitor and record food temperatures as assigned and take appropriate action when food is outside established safe ranges. • Clean and sanitize food-preparation areas, serving areas, tables, equipment, utensils, trays, dishes, and other assigned areas. • Label, date, store, and rotate food and supplies according to established procedures. Kitchen Operations & Team Support • Safely operate kitchen and food-service equipment after receiving appropriate training. • Receive, organize, stock, and inventory food and supplies as assigned. • Report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, shortages, spills, injuries, and food-safety concerns promptly to the Lunch Manager or supervisor. • Work cooperatively with food-service staff, school employees, students, and the public. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • Ability to read and follow menus, recipes, labels, safety instructions, and written procedures. • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in food preparation, portioning, counting, and recordkeeping. • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff, supervisors, and the public. • Ability to maintain dependable attendance, follow assigned schedules, and complete work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to learn and consistently follow food-safety, sanitation, dietary-accommodation, and equipment-use procedures. • Must hold or obtain any food-handler permit or other certification required for the assignment within the timeframe established by the District. • Must successfully complete required background check and onboarding requirements. Physical Requirements • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, stoop, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull food, supplies, trays, carts, and equipment as required by the assignment. • Ability to work safely around hot surfaces, steam, sharp utensils, cleaning products, food allergens, and wet or slippery floors. Equipment Used • Commercial kitchen and food-service equipment, including ovens, warmers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashing equipment, food-preparation tools, serving equipment, carts, and cleaning equipment. |

Job Description The Part-Time Lunch Worker assists with preparing, serving, and cleaning up school meals at Delta South Elementary School. The employee works under the direction of the Lunch Manager and school administration and helps maintain a safe, sanitary, efficient, and welcoming food-service environment for students and staff. This is a school-year position scheduled for four hours per day. Compensation is based on Lane 1 of the Millard School District Classified Salary Schedule. |

Benefits Compensation & Salary Placement • Compensation will follow the Millard School District Classified Salary Schedule or approved hourly rate for the position. • Scheduled hours and work calendar are assigned according to the position and District need. Benefits Eligibility • This is a part-time, limited-hours position and does not qualify for District health insurance benefits. • Paid leave, holidays, retirement, or other benefits are provided only if applicable based on employment classification, assigned schedule, District policy, and applicable law.
