Instruction & Student Support
             Provide direct, specially designed instruction aligned to student IEP goals
             Develop and implement instructional strategies targeting academic, behavioral, and functional skills
             Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
IEP & Compliance
             Participate in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
             Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and District policies
             Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction and services
Collaboration
             Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
             Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
             Work within a multidisciplinary team to support student outcomes
Behavior & Classroom Management
             Implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports
             Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
Professional Responsibilities

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
      Applicants must meet one of the following qualification pathways:
      • Currently Qualified: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a current Utah Professional Educator License with the Special Education license area and authorization appropriate for the assignment.
      • Currently Enrolled: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and current enrollment in a USBE-approved university educator-preparation program or APPEL-SpEd program leading to the Special Education license area and authorization appropriate for the assignment.
      • Willing to Obtain: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and willingness and eligibility to enter and successfully complete a District-approved and USBE-approved special education educator-preparation pathway leading to the required license area and authorization.
      • Applicants pursuing a qualification pathway must obtain and maintain any license, authorization, or approval required to teach while completing the approved program.
      • Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory progress toward and timely completion of all assigned licensure and program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
      • Previous successful teaching experience in an elementary special education setting.
      • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs.
      • Experience providing specially designed instruction in resource, inclusion, or specialized-program settings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
      • Knowledge of IDEA, Utah special education rules, IEP procedures, accommodations, progress monitoring, and special education documentation requirements.
      • Ability to plan and deliver differentiated, evidence-based instruction responsive to individual student needs.
      • Ability to collect and analyze student data, monitor progress, and adjust instruction accordingly.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents/guardians, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
      • Strong written and oral communication, organization, documentation, and time-management skills.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with District policies and applicable state and federal requirements.

Job Description
Millard School District is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to serve students in an elementary school setting. This position provides specially designed instruction and educational support to students with disabilities; develops and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); monitors and documents student progress; and collaborates with families, educators, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators. The specific assignment may include resource, inclusion, or other specialized programming based on student and District needs.
