Responsibilities Department Leadership and Supervision • Direct and coordinate the work of the District maintenance department. • Supervise maintenance personnel and provide districtwide oversight and support to head custodians. • Organize work assignments and determine appropriate use of staff or outside contractors. • Inspect and supervise maintenance work and assist as needed. • Coordinate with principals and administrators regarding facility needs. Facilities, Construction, and Project Coordination • Assist administrators in reviewing remodeling, repair, and construction needs. • Plan and help design remodeling and selected construction projects. • Review plans, specifications, and bid requirements. • Prepare cost estimates and make recommendations. • Coordinate and monitor contractor work and project progress. • Arrange and oversee subcontractors. Operations and Maintenance • Receive, prioritize, and assign work orders and maintenance requests. • Supervise and assist with grounds maintenance. • Supervise installation and maintenance of equipment. • Plan and supervise snow removal operations. • Recommend equipment purchases. • Purchase materials and parts as authorized. Training, Safety, and Compliance • Provide safety training and professional development for maintenance and custodial staff. • Stay current on building codes, laws, and regulations. • Promote safe work practices across District facilities. Records, Budget, and Emergency Response • Maintain maintenance records and prepare reports. • Approve purchase orders and invoices. • Monitor maintenance expenditures. • Respond to facility emergencies and remain on call. Qualifications Education • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Technical training or apprenticeship in maintenance or construction preferred. Knowledge and Skills • Thorough knowledge of maintenance, repair, and construction practices. • Ability to supervise personnel and coordinate projects. • Ability to read blueprints and specifications. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience • Five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Supervisory experience preferred. Licenses and Requirements • Valid driver’s license required. • CDL preferred. • Ability to meet physical demands and respond to emergencies. |

Millard School District is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Supervisor to lead the District’s maintenance operations and provide oversight to head custodians across the District. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising maintenance, repair, grounds, and facility improvement work while coordinating personnel, contractors, and project needs. The Maintenance Supervisor also assists with construction and remodeling projects, supports school administrators with facility needs, and ensures District buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and well maintained. This position serves in a leadership role for the maintenance department and provides direction, coordination, training support, and operational guidance to head custodians and maintenance staff districtwide. The position is on call for facility emergencies and works closely with the Superintendent, Business Administrator, school administrators, contractors, and vendors. |
