Essential Duties and Responsibilities
     Coach student-athletes in sport-specific techniques, strategies, and conditioning appropriate to the season.
     Motivate and mentor student-athletes to develop strong character, work ethic, sportsmanship, and appreciation for the sport.
     Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.
     Ensure compliance with UHSAA regulations and Millard School District policies and procedures.
     Supervise all team activities including practices, competitions, travel, and off-season events.
     Monitor academic eligibility and promote academic accountability of student-athletes.
     Communicate effectively with athletes, parents/guardians, administration, and athletic directors.
     Serve as a liaison for related youth and feeder programs to strengthen program development.
     Manage program budgets, expenditures, fundraising efforts, and equipment inventory in coordination with school administration and the District finance office.
     Plan and oversee off-season activities including camps, conditioning programs, and summer preparation.
     Maintain required coaching certifications and ensure assistant coaches meet compliance standards.
     Coordinate transportation and scheduling in collaboration with administration.
Golf-Specific Responsibilities
     Coach student-athletes in golf fundamentals including swing mechanics, putting, chipping, and course management
     Teach rules of golf, scoring procedures, etiquette, and pace of play expectations
     Organize and supervise practices at golf courses or designated practice facilities
     Coordinate match play, tournaments, and team participation in UHSAA events
     Provide individualized instruction and feedback to improve player performance
     Monitor equipment use and coordinate access to practice facilities and golf courses
     Promote sportsmanship, integrity, and respect consistent with the traditions of the game
     Assist student-athletes in understanding course strategy and competitive decision-making
     Coordinate transportation and logistics for off-campus practices and competitions
     Maintain communication with golf course personnel and ensure proper facility use

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
     Must meet UHSAA coaching certification standards or be willing to obtain certification prior to the start of the season.
     Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.
     Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
     Previous coaching experience (02 years or more), preferably at the secondary level.
     Prior participation experience in the sport at the high school or collegiate level.
     Experience managing budgets and coordinating fundraising activities.
     Ability to supervise students safely in an athletic environment.
Golf-Specific Qualifications
     Knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and competitive play
     Ability to instruct and develop players with varying skill levels
     Familiarity with golf course operations and etiquette standards
     Ability to organize practices and competitions in an off-campus environment
     Strong communication and organizational skills
     Previous golf coaching or playing experience preferred
 
 
Description
Millard School District is accepting applications for the position of Golf Coach at Millard High School. There will be 2 positions available, 1 for the boy's team and 1 for the girl's team. The Golf Coach is responsible for coaching student-athletes in golf techniques, course management, and competitive performance to prepare them for interscholastic competition. The coach will foster sportsmanship, discipline, and a positive team culture while promoting student-athlete growth both on and off the course.
 
The Golf Coach serves as a liaison to feeder and youth golf programs and is responsible for coordinating program logistics, including practice schedules, competitions, and communication with administration.

Seasonal / Extra Duty
     Compensation follows the Millard School District Extra Duty Salary Schedule.
     Seasonal positions are not eligible for health insurance or paid leave benefits unless otherwise required by law.
Millard School District offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees. Benefit eligibility is determined by position type, scheduled hours, and calendar assignment.
Compensation is determined according to the applicable Millard School District Salary Schedule (Professional, Classified, or Extra Duty).

Coaching experience, sport-specific knowledge, and demonstrated ability to supervise students will be evaluated as part of the screening process.
Certification& Training Requirements
While professional educator licensure is not required for coaching positions, selected applicants must:
    1. Meet UHSAA coaching certification requirements (if applicable to the activity) prior to the start of the season
    2. Complete required district trainings (e.g., concussion training, SafeSchools modules, boundary training, etc.)
    3. Maintain compliance with all Millard School District and UHSAA policies
