Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Assist the Principal in the day-to-day administration and operation of the school
- Support the implementation of school improvement plans and academic initiatives
- Supervise and evaluate assigned staff in accordance with District policies and procedures
- Assist in student discipline, attendance, and behavior management systems
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment for students and staff
- Support instructional leadership, including curriculum implementation and data-driven decision-making
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring of staff
- Coordinate and supervise school activities, events, and programs
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, staff, and community stakeholders
- Assist in ensuring compliance with District policies, state regulations, and federal requirements
School Leadership & Operations- Assist with master scheduling and school logistics
- Support emergency preparedness and school safety planning
- Monitor and support student academic progress and intervention systems
- Collaborate with counselors, special education staff, and support personnel to meet student needs
- Serve as acting Principal in the absence of the Principal
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
- Current Millard School District employee
- Current Utah Professional Educator License.
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or a related field
- Current Utah Administrative/Supervisory Endorsement (required)
- Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, student management, or school operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership experience (e.g., instructional coach, or similar role)
- Experience working at the middle school level
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
- Experience with PBIS, MTSS, or similar systems of support
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to analyze data and support school improvement efforts
- Knowledge of applicable laws, policies, and best practices in education
