Essential Duties and Responsibilities

   Coach student-athletes in tennis techniques, match strategy, conditioning, and skill development.

   Prepare individuals and teams for interscholastic competition.

   Plan, organize, and conduct practices, competitions, and team activities.

   Supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, travel, and related activities.

   Motivate and mentor student-athletes to develop discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.

   Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe athletic environment.

   Serve as a liaison with related youth or feeder programs, as applicable.

   Coordinate and support off-season activities, camps, and summer preparation as approved by administration.

   Assist with or manage program responsibilities such as equipment, scheduling, fundraising, and budget

coordination, as assigned.

   Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, administrators, officials, and community

stakeholders.

Qualifications

   Ability to meet UHSAA coaching certification requirements, or willingness to obtain certification prior to

the start of the season.

Minimum Qualifications

   Knowledge of sport-specific rules, fundamentals, and safety practices.

   Ability to supervise and work effectively with secondary-level students.

Preferred Qualifications

   Previous coaching experience (0–2 years or more), preferably at the secondary level.

   Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills

   Experience fostering positive team culture and student engagement.

 
 
Description
Millard School District is accepting applications for the position of Girls Tennis Coach at Delta High School. The Girls Tennis Coach is responsible for coaching student-athletes in tennis fundamentals, techniques, and competitive strategies while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. The coach is expected to promote a positive, inclusive athletic environment and ensure compliance with District, school, and UHSAA standards. 
 
Application Procedure

Complete District Application

   Complete the online application through the Millard School District Applicant Portal.

Attach Required Documentation (Mandatory)

   Applicants must upload documentation demonstrating high-quality education. Applications will not be considered and will be denied if this documentation is not included.

Acceptable documentation includes one of the following:

   Official or unofficial college transcripts showing completion of 48 semester hours; or

   Documentation of an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution; or

   Passing score report from a qualifying examination approved by the District (e.g., Master Teacher

Assessment or equivalent).

Additional required uploads:

   Current résumé outlining education and relevant coaching or athletic experience.

   Two letters of recommendation.

Screening & Selection

   Applications will be screened for completeness and minimum qualifications.

   Incomplete applications or applications missing required education documentation will be denied.

   Qualified applicants may be contacted for interviews with the school principal or hiring committee.

   Final candidates will be notified by the District Human Resources Office.

Background Check

   Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and required

onboarding documentation.

   Applicable coaching certifications or training records (if available).
