Essential Duties and Responsibilities

   Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to students with mild to moderate disabilities.

   Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA, Utah State Board of Education rules, and District policies.

   Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success.

   Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments to meet diverse learning needs.

   Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals using data-driven practices.

   Implement behavior supports and classroom management strategies consistent with student needs and IEP requirements.

   Maintain accurate and timely special education records, reports, and compliance documentation.

   Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and required staff meetings.

   Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams

   Perform other duties as assigned by school administration consistent with the position.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

   Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university

   Current Utah Professional Educator License with a Special Education endorsement, or

   Active enrollment in an approved Special Education preparation program with substantial progress toward completions, as determined by the District.

   Ability to meet Highly Qualified Teacher requirements under applicable state and federal guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

   Fully licensed with a Mild/Moderate Special Education endorsement at the time of application.

   Prior experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities at the secondary level.

   Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

   Experience with inclusive practices and co-teaching models.

 
 
Description
Millard School District is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher – to serve students at Millard High School. This position provides specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and applicable state and federal regulations.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold a current Utah Professional Educator License in Special Education endorsement. The District will also consider applicants who are actively enrolled in a Special Education preparation program and are significantly close to program completion, subject to documentation and District approval.

Attach Required Documentation (Mandatory)

   Applicants must upload documentation demonstrating high-quality education. Applications will not be considered and will be denied if this documentation is not included.

   Current résumé outlining education and relevant experience.

   Official or unofficial college transcripts demonstrating degree completion or, for candidates still

completing a program, transcripts clearly showing current enrollment and progress toward completion.

   Copy of current Utah teaching license and endorsement(s), or documentation verifying enrollment in an

approved Special Education preparation program.

   Two letters of recommendation.

Screening & Selection

   Applications will be reviewed for completeness, licensure status, and minimum qualifications.

   Applicants meeting minimum requirements may be contacted for interviews with the school principal or

hiring committee.

   Final candidates will be notified by the District HR Office.

Background Check

   Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and required
