Qualifications Education • High school diploma, adult high school diploma, or G.E.D. • Must also meet one of the following: • Completion of two years of post-secondary study (48+ semester hours) • Associate’s degree (or higher) • Passing score on the Master Teacher Assessment (demonstrating ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics) Knowledge & Skills • Strong math proficiency at the middle school level (pre-algebra, ratios, expressions, equations, etc.) • Competence in reading, writing, speaking, and arithmetic • Ability to work effectively with students and collaborate with teachers • Positive interpersonal and communication skills; able to mentor and motivate students in math • Familiarity with or willingness to learn intervention strategies promoted by the Utah STEM Math Mentors Program • Basic computer and technology proficiency; ability to use calculators, online math platforms, and instructional software Abilities • Provide one-on-one and small group math support under teacher direction • Reinforce classroom instruction and help students build confidence in math • Adapt instruction to diverse learners’ needs • Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and professionalism in a middle school environment Experience • Prior experience working with or tutoring adolescents (preferred, not required) Other Requirements • Must pass a background check • Physical ability to perform essential functions of instructional support |

Complete District Application Screening & Interviews • Applications will be reviewed for minimum qualifications. • Selected applicants will be contacted for interviews with the school principal or hiring committee. Selection & Notification • Final candidates will be notified by the District HR Office. • Employment is contingent on completion of onboarding requirements (new hire paperwork, verification of employment eligibility, background check clearance, and other required documentation). • Submit a Millard School District Classified Employee Application (available on the District website or at the District Office). Attach Required Documentation • Current résumé outlining education and relevant experience. • Copies of educational transcripts or proof of qualifying education (either 48 semester hours, Associate’s degree, or passing score on the Master Teacher Assessment.) • Any applicable certifications or training records (if required for the position). • Upload two letters of recommendation Background Check • All candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to employment. |
