Requirements |

The AmeriCorps Student Success Program (SSP) partners with schools to fund, train, and support AmeriCorps Members who work on-site to provide extra support for at-risk students. The program is funded through AmeriCorps and the Utah Commission on Service and Volunteerism and administered by the United Way of Northern Utah. Service Term: 10–12 months (beginning August) Hours:
- Reduced Full-Time: 1200 hours
- Part-Time: 900 hours
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Elementary Literacy Tutoring
- Provide one-on-one tutoring in person and/or online for struggling readers.
- Student Support / Community School Engagement:
- Track individual student attendance
- Conduct daily check-ins/check-outs to reduce absences
- Support classroom routines and student engagement
- Assist with school events and outreach activities
Member Benefits: - Living Allowance:
- $16,000 for reduced full-time (1200 hours)
- $12,000 for part-time (900 hours)

Qualifications: - Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be a high school graduate
- Must pass an FBI background check and sex offender registry check
- Must provide the following documents prior to training:
- U.S. birth certificate or approved citizenship documentation
- Driver’s license
- Social Security card
- High school graduation verification
- Must attend a mandatory 2-day pre-service orientation and training in August

- Dependable, organized, and self-motivated
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for tracking attendance and virtual tutoring
