Requirements |

- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education or related field
- Valid teaching license or ability to obtain one preferred
- Experience working with adult learners, at-risk populations, or alternative education programs strongly preferred
- Strong technology skills and experience with virtual teaching platforms
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with GED preparation and testing standards
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS)
- Bilingual skills are a plus

Description |

We are seeking a dedicated and engaging Virtual Academy Teacher to support adult learners working toward their high school diploma or GED. This role is part of a grant-funded, two-year virtual pilot program focused on expanding access and improving outcomes for adult students. The teacher will deliver high-quality online instruction, build meaningful connections, and help learners overcome barriers to achieve their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual instruction in core subject areas aligned with high school diploma and GED requirements
- Develop and deliver engaging online lessons tailored to adult learners with diverse academic backgrounds
- Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
- Support students in setting goals, staying motivated, and maintaining consistent attendance
- Utilize online learning platforms and digital tools to facilitate instruction and track performance
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and outcomes
- Communicate regularly with students, staff, and support services to ensure student success
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive virtual classroom environment
Work Environment:
- Fully virtual/remote position
- This is a grant-based, two-year pilot program
- Flexible scheduling may be required to meet student needs
- Part-time applicants may be considered based on qualifications
