Requirements
Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening
 
 
Description

Experience in building maintenance and grounds operations
Positive attitude with a desire for professional growth and ability to work in a team
environment
Familiarity with computers and software related to maintenance, inventory, and
communication systems
Valid driver’s license and ability to qualify under the district’s insurance carrier to operate
district vehicles
Understanding of safe work practices in accordance with OSHA 10 and OSHA 30
standards, as well as other industry safety practices
General knowledge, hands-on experience, or willingness to learn in the following areas:
Plumbing
Electrical
HVAC
General construction, including concrete, framing, finish carpentry, flooring,
roofing, doors, and hardware
Groundskeeping, irrigation and sprinkler systems, fencing, and playground
maintenance
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to changing
priorities
Ability to pass a background check in accordance with district policy

Primary Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance and repair of district buildings, grounds, and operating
systems to ensure facilities are safe and fully functional
Troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, flooring,
and minor construction projects
Maintain and repair irrigation and sprinkler systems
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Ensure compliance with safety standards and district policies
Obtain certifications as required or requested by the Maintenance Supervisor
Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, backhoes, and dump trucks
Operate power tools and specialized equipment
Assist with snow removal operations as needed
Work a standard Monday through Friday, 40-hour schedule. Overtime may be required
for emergencies or seasonal workloads
Participate in occasional out-of-town or overnight travel for training, certifications, or
related needs

Preferred Qualifications
Journeyman plumber
Certified commercial building inspector
Certification or journeyman-level experience in a skilled trade
Experience in institutional or school facility maintenance
Playground Safety Inspector certification
Fire inspector certification
Environmental hygienist experience or qualifications
Inventory or warehouse management experience
